Someone wrote a widget to automatically update wordpress.
This widget rocks my socks. So much better than the old way. I highly recommend it.
I just upgraded my wordpress (a task I’ve been delaying for several months now) in less than 5 minutes. Freakin’ awesome.
AND it even checks for updates for your widgets! Amazing!

I’m bored. I’m actually doing work right now, but the work I’m doing is watching a database segment install. Read: watching the grass grow. I’ve already read up on a couple of bash scripting tools that I needed to know more about and experimented with the, and I’ve read all my blogs, and so I needed something else to do.

Sorry about the hiatus. I keep having things I want to write about, but honestly, I’m usually tired of typing when I get home. I’ve been in a dvd watching mode rather than a productive mode. Oops.
I’ve missed scathing blogging about Harry Reid’s abortive attempt to do something stupid with IP (which be backed off of, but I was going to write about how that old school mentality hurts the liberal cause in general), I’ve a draft of a rundown of the current candidates and my takes that I was going to update every now and again, a couple of personal thoughts about trying to lose weight that i haven’t posted.
Oh well. It comes and goes. :-)
Keep leaving me comments, though. I love the comments.

Ok, so I finally got around to doing some more website updates today. I upgraded wordpress to 2.2, added a captcha, and added a new stat-tracker so I can see when people are visiting me. Hopefully the combination of the last 2 will reduce the number of visits I get from ad-bots trying to add comment spam.
Apologies for the captcha, because I know its going to be irritating to some folks. However, it doesn’t actually add stuff to logged in users, so if you email me, I’ll set you up an account with the site and you can avoid needing to use the captcha.
Cheers, all!

I desperately need to implement a captcha. I am sick of all the spam that I’m getting, and the fact that I get way more visits from spam sites than from legitimate folks. Bah, humbug. It all gets caught by my filters, but DAMN, I’d like to be able to get a realistic picture of who is visiting my site for the purpose of, you know, READING it?
