Closed loops systems and energy from algae
Stumbled on this article from the Christian Science Monitor. It sounds awesome, although of course they caveate it with “in the planning stages.
This sort of thing is extremely important, because it represents both conservation, cleanup, and new and fresh energy sources. I’m sure I’ve kevetched about the need for a broad variety of energy sources before, and this sort of thing is definitely one of them.
What I really wish though is that either someone would open up some kind of publically funded VC fund that you could invest in with the specific purpose of investing in small, break through alternative energy sources, or that these companies would figure out a way to go public. Why can’t the rest of us profit from world-saving technology too, dammit?
As a side note, has anyone else noticed that the CSM does a surprisingly good journalistic job?
