An open letter to my representatives

To Jerry Costello:

Sir,

I know that this variety of letter is not one that you are probably used to receiving, because what I am going to do is link to the substance of my letter, and give a brief overview of what that link contains.

The idea expressed at the link, and one that I agree with one hundred percent, is that we need to do a “minimalistic” impeachment of Bush, Cheney, and the administration. The impeachment should not be for the substantive crimes that they seem to have committed against the citizens of this country and this world, but rather only for the obstruction of justice that they are currently involved in against the investigations that the senate and the house are currently undergoing.

Sir, I hope that you will not only support beginning these impeachment proceedings, but will hopefully be a leader in bringing them to pass. I am not asking you to assume the guilt of this administration in treason, I am only asking you to stop the administration from ignoring your branch of the government; from ignoring the branch most accessible to the people of whom our government is supposed to be made.

LINKSPAM: A good idea

This is the best way of going about things I’ve heard yet. Kudos to the author, and I concur. Substantive can come later. Let’s just stop the obstruction, for now.

LINKSPAM: DNC Media Director shows why neocon hiring practices suck

From crooks and liars. I believe this is a DNC media director and an RNC media director, and while they’re both just spewing talking points, the DNC lady seems to actually know something about the issue, whilst the RNC lady just keeps looking like she’s been poleaxed. My favorite is the bit at the end where matthews (a dick, but one who asked a couple of ok questions this time) asks the RNC lady “how do we stop muslim 15 and 16 year olds from becoming terrorists” and she just stares at him, slacked jawed.

Hey…when you hire folks because they’re from the right religious nut university, look cute, and probably give good head (note the slack-jawed expression), you’re not gonna get someone who can deviate from their memorized talking points.

The video is at C&L, but I uploaded it to my site (fair use, right?) with apologies to C&L so I can access it from work and show it to some guys.
