Ok, so they freaking are a bunch of potheads at alternet. Big deal, a lot of their articles are still good. BUT DO THEY HAVE TO FREAKING ANNOUNCE IT???
Jesus, this is why no one will ever be willing to listen to goddamn liberal media sources. Because instead of sticking to the important stuff, they have to go and talk about their drug use. Which, granted, is probably healthier than treating it like a dirty little secret like all the conservatives who know doubt “puff away” do..at least this isn’t hypocritical. But goddamn. As soon as someone I was trying to get to look at this site for a different viewpoint saw this, that’d be then end of it. They’d be done, and back to fox.
Heres my favorite part of the article.
Among my close friends, there’s a general feeling that there are “good” drugs and “bad” drugs. The good ones are empathetic and eye-opening (MDMA, marijuana, hallucinogens). The bad ones are ego-driven and destructive (coke, speed, heroin)
Empathic and eye-opening my ass. Just because you have no goddamn imagination and empathy on your own doesn’t mean some goddamn chemical imbalancer is going to give you some. Jackass.
And, yes, I do drink, and you want to know why that doesn’t bother me? Because I don’t pretend that my drinking adds anything to my life or experience set besides being a socially inclusive addiction. And neither does anyone else I know. Maybe some health benefit from the “one to two drinks a day” school. Much like gaming, or sports, or anything. It certainly isn’t some kind of necessary relaxant. At least this article (sort of) preaches moderation.
Goddamn. I might stop reading alternet.
No I won’t. But this is freaking annoying.
